The journal bearing 70mm that I had originally spooled a lot quicker, but that was a .68 vs a .96 a/r exhaust housing which obviously makes a difference. The 76 bb made 680rwhp/700rwtq on my 2v 4.6 at around 23lbs.

Im planning a build for my audi s4 that will be using a single precision 6262 turbo with a .82ar v-band turbine housing on a 2.7L v6. I know ball bearings are supposed to spool a bit faster, but is it worth the extra cost (roughly $600 in this case) over a journal bearing turbo?

Nov 15, 2007· If you''re just starting out I''d suggest a journal bearing turbo. On FWD lag is good anyway. It gives you time to hook up before full boost hits. The performance of a ball bearing turbo is undeniable though and you can get really quick spool on a large(ish) turbo.
